No pictures to show for it, but we made the long journey here:
- 26.5 total hours of travel = 15 hours on airplanes, 2.5 hours in automobiles, 9 hours in airports. Left James’s parents home Thursday at noon and were in our hotel room at 11 PM Friday.
- All 6 bags made it… even after all the chaos of bus loading and cattle herding 70 teachers and families to the hotel, they still all made it. yay!
- We got the long-awaited airplane “bassinet” for JT, in the bulkhead, on the 13 hour flight. Seriously, that may have saved our marriage.
- JT slept about 5 hours of the 13 hour flight, in 45 min – 1 hour chunks. He flirted with ALL the girls, and was referred to as “the good baby that did NOT cry”.
- The airplane food wasn’t half bad, especially the full size Klondike bars in the middle of the night.
- We met a ton of other teachers and shared all our bits of information, to we know a little more.
- 6 bags + 3 carry ons + baby = challenge.
- There is a chance they make the customs part of the airport 100′ to help weed out the trouble makers.
- James had to get his eyeball scanned so we could get into the country.
- JT and I only have a 30 day tourist visa. If we don’t get residency visas in time, we have to leave the country and come back. Suggestions on where to go?
You should go to Oman, assuming we are there. If we aren’t there then you should come to wherever we are.
